Fuxiang Group Secures Patent for High-Performance “Popcorn” Particle Bonding Technology

A Sustainable, High-Comfort Breakthrough for Next-Generation Footwear Applications

Fuxiang Group has achieved a significant technical milestone in polyurethane component engineering for footwear applications. The company’s newly granted and officially authorized patent—“High-Performance Popcorn Particle-Based Composite Structure and Its Preparation Method—has been officially approved by the National Intellectual Property Administration.

This patent covers a next-generation bonding and processing method for popcorn-style PU insoles, enhancing breathability, cushioning consistency, durability, and sustainability. The approval marks a major step forward in Fuxiang’s ability to deliver high-performance, production-ready solutions for global footwear brands.

Four Key Performance Upgrades Improving Insole and Footbed Design

    1. Advanced Breathability & Moisture Management

Using a modified bio-based polyol combined with silanized nano-materials, the new system creates efficient moisture-transfer channels within the insole structure.

This enables faster sweat dispersion, keeps the foot environment dry, and significantly enhances all-day comfort—ideal for athletic footwear, daily comfort styles, sandals, and footbeds.

    2. Long-Lasting Cushioning & Structural Stability

The optimized polyurethane adhesive system provides stable rebound and reliable compression-set resistance.

This ensures the footbed maintains its shape and cushioning comfort over time—ideal for sandals, slides, slippers, and everyday comfort products, where all-day wear and consistent softness are essential.

    3. More Sustainable Material Choices

The adhesive incorporates bio-based polyols derived from renewable sources and utilizes a low-impact formulation to help lower the environmental impact of footwear component manufacturing compared to conventional bonding systems.

This supports reduced environmental impact across multiple footwear component applications, aligning with the increasing sustainability commitments of global footwear brands.

    4. High Customizability for Brand Requirements

The patented process supports a wide range of design and engineering adjustments, including thickness, hardness, color, and density.

This flexibility enables brands to tailor the footbed or insole precisely to each product line’s needs—whether targeting premium comfort, casual lifestyle, or open-toe footwear collections.

Supporting Footwear Brands With Proven, Scalable Manufacturing

As an OEM/ODM manufacturer specializing in footwear components,Fuxiang Group continues to strengthen its R&D investment in cushioning materials, comfort technologies, and sustainable manufacturing methods.

The newly approved patent reinforces the company’s commitment to becoming a reliable technology partner for brands that require high-quality performance components alongside responsible supply chain practices.

“True innovation should balance performance, comfort, and environmental responsibility,”said Tony, Head of R&D at Fuxiang Group. “This bonding technology demonstrates our technical depth in polyurethane adhesion and composite engineering, and helps brands build products that perform better and last longer.”

Fuxiang will continue developing recyclable, bio-based, and eco-engineered solutions that support global brands in designing the next generation of high-performance, low-impact footwear.
